MB 2001 Oilfield Services Ltd. (MB 2001 Ltd.) is a (Szolnok) Hungary based drilling contractor and multi-service provider for oilfield operations.
Being one of the major drilling contractors in Hungary, the main activity of the company is drilling of hydrocarbon and geothermal wells within the range of 1000 and 3000 meters. We are also active in well completion, workover and well abandonment operations.
MB 2001 Ltd. is uniquely placed along the oilfield services value chain through its in-house capabilities as it also provides a wide range of other oilfield services.
The company history dates back to 1957 when the Hungarian Oil Trust was established. Since then, several structural changes have been implemented. The predecessor of MB 2001 Ltd., the MB Drilling Company Ltd. played a determinant role in the history of oil and gas industry of Hungary. After the acquisition by MB Petroleum Services in 1997, the final step was the establishment of MB 2001 Oilfield Services Ltd in 2001. Now it is a 100% subsidiary of the family owned MB Holding Company LLC, based in Oman.

Our experiences
We have more than 60 years of experience in the field of services related to well operations. Our employees – some of whom have more than 30 years of company membership - form the core of our experience and competence for well site operations. Together with our sister company MB Metalworks Ltd. - located also in Szolnok, Hungary – we successfully provided several inspections, repairs and refurbishments of drilling rigs and their equipment to our Hungarian and foreign clients as well.

MB 2001 Ltd. is a member of two national professional organizations: the Hungarian Mining and Metallurgical Society (OMBKE) and the Hungarian Mining Association (MABSZ). Provision of services
Our company has been playing a decisive role in the Hungarian market for hydrocarbon and geothermal drilling for decades. Apart from drilling operations MB 2001 Ltd. also offers plug and well abandonment and workover services. With our drilling rigs ranging from 50 tons to 200 tons in hook load capacity we provide vertical, directional and horizontal onshore drilling operations down to 3000 meters.
In our Szolnok workshop we do rig refurbishments, overhauls and NDT of drilling equipment. Furthermore, we manufacture and top-coat customized mills, provide downhole tools and full range of fishing tools for rental and offer various related services.
